He just sort of blurted it out when we arrived home from a friend’s wedding, at which I’d caught the bouquet and he’d followed spectacularly by catching the garter. We left amid a chorus of ‘You’re next!’ (‘Ha ha, I don’t think so!’ we replied) and come dinnertime, there was nothing in the fridge.
‘Why don’t we get some noodles?’ I ask. Evidently that was the most romantic phrase ever (I found out that he’d been craving noodles for a couple of days) because he approached me with the most open expression and said,
He took a deep breath. ‘Will you marry me?’
‘…are you really asking, or is this -‘
    ‘I’m serious!’
…It took a while, but I eventually ended his terror by saying yes!

Great story Rebecca! Felt like we were right there watching it all unfold. So its the same in your house then, a way to your misters heart is through his noodle, so to speak ;P Loved reading this thanks so much you gave us a giggle.

On our one year anniversary he took the weekend off work so we could spend the Saturday going to the places I’ve been wanting to go to in Melbourne, then on Sunday he had organized a day which was to be a surprise, we drove to daylesford, went to the botanical gardens there, then went for a walk to the mineral water pumps at the lake, followed lunch at the lake house, we then had a 2hour massage and facial package, he also hired a villa so we could get ready to go out for dinner at the argus, which happened to be right across the road from the villa,
Whilst we were having dinner, his brother and his sister in law were setting up candles and rose petals and a poster in the villa, after dinner he fb back to the room ahead of me pretending he needed to go to the bathroom, by the time I got to the door I opened it and there he was on one knee with a ring in his hand, there were candles and red rose petals all through the hall way leading to a poster and balloons which said “will you marry me?” It was the perfect way to end out anniversary weekend 🙂

Way to go.. There’s a man who has watched all the chick flicks and took notes! What a wonderful hubby to be to make the day so memorable. xo

  • Anna says:

After taking me out to dinner I grabbed an ice cream from the freezer. When I came around the corner he was down on his knee and then brought out the ring.

    • Mister+Lady says:

Well I don’t know about you Anna but I think icecream is one of the best things on the planet so it was a double win in my eyes 🙂 Lady xo

in the birth suite at the hospital about 30 minutes after our son was born. Made a beautiful and emotional morning even more so!

  • Natalie says:

My fiancé proposed to me by taking me on an camping outback adventure to the opal fields in QLD. We stayed at a caravan park in a small town called Yowah which is home to a beautiful opal called the Yowah nut. On Monday the 21st of July 2014 my partner woke me up at 6.30 in the morning to go have a look at the sunrise on top of this lookout called the bluff. Once we got up there my partner lit a small camp fire where we watched the sun rise as this was happening my partner got down on one knee and proposed with much excitement I said yes.

    • Mister+Lady says:
